what results do you see that point to a sub 13:20 now that we are in June?
Webb looks very poised and confident in this video. I think he's with the right group and I think he still has the body and now has the mentality to start getting under 13:20 this season and can set himself up to be on the big stage next year.
It seems to me that when it appears Webb is in the right state of mine, it's actually much worse.
Hat's off to his agent, anyone who can get a 4:04 miler a lane in a race at Pre Classic earned every penny of his percentage.

You seem to be digging too deeply there.
I feel sad for him. It's like he is begging for scraps when he was once the king. He should really save whatever dignity he has left and retire. He has potential in commentating and other avenues in the sport. He is still recognizable figure and he can surely capitalize on that.
his mile time for 1500
and you're comment reflects a douchebag's mentality. what does the president have to with t&f? give it a rest.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW IT IS PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE FOR A 3:46 MILER TO ONLY BE IN 4 FLAT SHAPE WHEN HE IS HEALTHY AND TRAINING HARD?!?!
Burnt out?
Goddammit I love Alan Webb and it kills me to see this.
Webb needs to go on Dr. Phil.

It takes time to get back into shape. Doesn't matter what your PR is
The right mindset being: "I'm just a glorified fun runner"? He's now not only a non-factor on the international stage, he's a non-factor on the national stage as well.
he was way back and he's only not being dropped in training now. this wasn't too bad. in two weeks, he could run 3:39. we know that he is only a healthy season and continued work with one coach away from an A standard.
Exactly. As far as I see it, he had at least a year of either horrible or non-existent training. If the approximation is true that you lose fitness twice as fast as you gain it, it will take about two years for him to get back into shape. Anything good he does this year will be bonus.
Solinsky is slightly ahead of him in that curve but in the same boat - don't expect anything this year. Both have previously made the mistake of trying to force themselves into shape in the past and both have very long-term goals now.
