Looks like it should be fast if they can crank out some fast last few laps

i was there and i heard him say that it is only temporary, some of the Kenyans and Ethiopians may request quicker, and in that case it could be low 7:40s. HE also said that Salazar/Rupp have not said anything about potential AR attempt.
Has sub 13 ever been run on American soil? I thought 13:03 or thereabouts was the record, but I admittedly haven't been keeping up with the sport too well the last few years.
Rupp and many others broke 13 at Pre last yeat... Others had done it prior on US soil as well.
Likely will slow on the 4th kilometer as per usual with a fast last lap.
I believe Tairiku Bekele was the first to go sub 13 on American soil in 2010 or 11?
all this Hype spells disappointment
Hmm , a good competitive race for the africans is a record attempt for the americans...
Ritz will probably want to run no slower than 13:15 or so, as a practice pace for his desire to go sub-27 in the 10K this summer.
Rupp, on the other hand, will probably want to run no slower than 13:08 or so, as a test of his speed for a sub-13 this summer.
Why do people feel the need to make up stuff that makes no sense?

I believe this is the fastest 5k by an American on US soil:
NYC Diamond League, 6/11/11
http://www.runnerspace.com/news.php?news_id=193361 Dejen Gebremeskel ETH 13:05.22
2 Bernard Lagat USA 13:05.46
3 Tariku Bekele ETH 13:06.06
4 Isiah Kiplangat Koech KEN 13:07.22
5 Juan Luis Barrios MEX 13:09.81
And the overall US Soil Record is Mo Farah's from the Pre Classic 6/2/12:
