In a story about Dick Pound and WADA, Lauren Fleshman left a comment about calling WADA to see if there is a way to complain about suspected dopers. Apparently she was just blown off and told to talk to USATF.

As a professional track athlete, you want to assume WADA is doing something of worth in the interest of clean sport to make all honest efforts worthwhile. As an exercise to test the effectiveness of the system, I tried to see how an athlete would go about reporting someone they knew was cheating thru the WADA site and was shocked to see that not only was there no obvious way to do so, but when I called the headquarters, I was blown off by an extremely rude employee saying there was no way to report such things and I'd need to go through my national federation. This was incredibly disheartening. More athletes are speaking out on the issue, and nobody consults us when it comes to punishments for cheaters. Lifetime bans and legacy erasure are harsh punishments that clean athletes would like to see, and yet punishments are too soft and changes take years to implement. There is no excuse for this. Harsher penalties need to be implemented yesterday."

I called WADA to report this runner Lauren Fleshman but they just blew me off.
This is very disappointing because I expected them to do something about doping, but they weren't interested to do anything.
The employee was rude and said to call my national association. Does anyone have their number? Thanks
Hopefully, WADA will figure out how to allow athletes to assist them in their mission to rid the sport of drug cheats.
Dopers are the lowest of the low in athletics because they dishonestly take from the clean athlete.
The dopers are liars and cheaters. They disgrace themselves and the sport.

Please email Weldon your suspicions about who is doping. They will get to the bottom of it, more than you know.

Ms Fleshman certainly has been vocal about dopers since she left Nike. I am sure if she wants to report someone she could email the broncos and they could point her in the right direction. Or If only she had the media savvy and platform she could actually name names,
While I can see some circumstances in which following the tips of athletes would be useful, in general, they would probably just use this to gain a competitive edge on opponents. If Christian Hesch proves anything, it is that even the vocal, well-liked athletes are not credible sources.

Here's the thing that is stupid about this. If Lauren had done her homework instead of going off half-cocked, she'd know the correct whistle blower contacts and process. USADA has one, and USATF have one. But kooky Lauren had to "go to the top." If she had researched her way through things, she would have found the EASY and PROPER places to whistle blow. Kind of hard to believe that she didn't already know.

The system was very effective in appropriately redirecting her to her national outlets...USADA and USATF, both of which have whistle-blower contact info easily accessible.
My point: Had she been aware of those entities...as one would think she would be as an elite athlete...and I mean really know their anti-doping programs, it never would have occurred to her to contact Canada/WADA, when the appropriate place for her to contact would be...USADA/USATF.

What if the suspected doper isn't an American and doesn't fall under USATF or USADA jurisdiction?

She has both. She could name names today if she wanted.
But nobody does. If a Nike guy calls out Rupp, no more money. People like Fleshman or Meb who have the knowledge and aren't beholden to the swoosh (or to the three stripes) are in a position to say something.

While each website does have a "contact us" page, neither one has a link for "reporting a suspected doper".
