There's a course that I do, it's at my school. It's about 6 miles, but there's a point where it crosses a road, where you can turn back. The round trip is somewhere between 1 and 2 miles, I'm not sure.
Anyway, when I did it after freshman year track as hard as I could for the heck of it, I got 10:21.
Sophomore year after cross country: 10:13
Sophomore year after track: 10:03
Junior year after cross country: 9:47
Junior year after track: 9:04
So yeah, what's the deal with that? Has anyone else had this experience, where you don't improve much for your first few years of high school and then all of a sudden you get better really fast? If so, how long does that last? Does that mean I'll run much faster in track next year?
Just curious.
