I was looking at our Olympic roster when I came across Ritz's weight. He weighs less than many female runners. I don't want to hear any of this, that's what you have to do to get fit crap either. 117 and 5'8" is not healthy.

...running 90-100 miles a week is?
That's just the way he's built. Seems healthy to me.
Laban Rotich is 98 pounds and you don't hear people complaining.
People in Africa don't label everything as a disorder. Rock on DSM-IV.
laban rotich is also about 5' 3" on a good day, and there is an exponential relationship with height and weight. a skinny 7 footer should weigh at least 260. Ritz should hit the weights. what does kenny bekele weigh?
You realize that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was 7-2 and only weighed 267?? And thats from his scorecard...I dont know if its like football but they always up the heights and weights.
a million
Chris fox was around 6 foot and around 120 if not less sometimes, he seem pretty fit. I would say Ritz's weight is good.
It is possible to be 117 lbs, 5'8", and healthy. I am 5'7" and 117 and I am healthy. I am just naturally a small guy. Even if I stopped running I would not gain much weight. I eat as much as any normal person and I also lift, but do dont seem to gain much weight. Last year when I was injured and not running I got up to 123, but now that I am running 60 miles a week I am down to 117.
Tergat's 6' or 6'1" and 125-130.
Whats wrong with Ritz's summary?
"Considered a distance-running prodigy since his high school years in Rockford, Mich., where he won two Foot Locker high school cross country national titles, Ritzenhein in July 2004 became a professional athlete. Competing with a stress fracture in his leg, Ritzenhein was 2nd in the 10,000m at the Olympic Trials, but he could make the Olympic Team if other runners to not achieve the Olympic A standard … earlier in the year, he broke the American 10,000m collegiate record with his time of 27:38.50 at Stanford… has battled stress fractures in recent years, but healthy is undoubtedly a talent … known for his high-mileage training."
he was like 2nd from last not 2nd in the Trials
It wasn't in reply to that.
Obviously ritz does not weigh 117lbs...I believe it should say "desired weight"....there is absolutely no way on this entire earth he ways 117 lbs.
I mean, look at gouchers. It says he weights like 138. More like 158 on a good day. Maybe.
I am 5'6" my best race weight was 111, 112 when I got over 117 I felt a little over weight. Now I play golf and weight 132 and feel fat.
I weigh 155 and feel like having a bagel.
I agree, no way he ways 117. Maybe he would like to weigh 117 but if he does then Cragg weighs 102!!! You believe he ways 10 lbs more than Kastor? Guys please before you all starve yourselves get a grip. I believe Geb weighs that much but Ritz just is not as slight a build.
I think almost all oof the profiles seem really unrealistic, the women's too!
Cool! A thread about a bunch of guys I could beat up. Can't get that on letsrugby.com
I would say it is a healthy weight for him if he was healthy. The fact is, he has had numerous stress fractures over the past two years. I wonder if his BMI has changed since high school, when he seemed to be able to avoid stress fractures? He trained pretty high mileage in HS, why all the injuries now? Tergat's weight seems good for him, he can run 200+ miles a week and not get injured. On the other hand, I've seen Geb listed at 125. He's about 5'3". Dense is a word that comes to mind.
