Cain. 4:04.92
The old war horses better come ready to run. (Just kidding, ladies) looking forward to a good race.

Uceny has in the past raced herself into shape in Europe, like Jamal and others. Simspon also came into form very late when she won her gold. Remember how Alan Webb beat Lagat in the US Champs in 2007....and where Webb was a couple of months later when Lagat won his double gold in Osaka?
Morgan was just DFL in the Mt. Sac 800--that's not how whe will run in Moscow. If Mary has been pushing herself hard to win NOW, in 4 months she may wish she didn't. It's what you do in Moscow that really matters. Salazar of course knows all of this, but will Mary really listen?
Cain could win this one if the others really aren't in shape yet. But in the 800 in San Diego against Montano, I think she'll find herself in over her head.
Considering this isn't a huge race, Uceny stands a chance of not falling down. Still, I kind of doubt she'll outkick Cain, and I don't see her putting on a huge enough lead (if any) to be in a good position at the last lap. Cain hasn't been stressed in a while. She will be fine.
Isn't there $25,000 on the line for the winner? Mary can expect some reciprocity if she throws the 'bo's with this field. This will be an intense competition.
Can anyone post or confirm the time of this race?
Looks like Friday 7:20? Is that local time? So 820 east coast?
Supposedly on espn3 so live? I guess?
I'm going with jenny b among the americans - new coach, new outlook, embarassed after her 2012 - I think she will come out fighting.
but aren't there africans in the race? small chance an American will win this thing.

You are correct.
So I got this thread going a bit too early the last time. Now that Drake is this weekend, let's get the thoughts and predictions rolling again.
Uceny vs Cain vs Simpson vs Rowbury (assuming the entries hold up...haven't been able to find a recent entry list)
Who do you think has it for the win? Uceny with her experience? Cain with her raw talent plus promising pro chops? Can Simpson regain her form? Rowbury was back a bit on the roads this week, so any worry there?
Discuss and enjoy.
Emma Coburn is also entered. Nobody has mentioned the NCAA Indoor champ at all.
Do you think she has a shot?
but aren't there africans in the race? small chance an American will win this thing._______________________________
Ex-African entered. Don't know what shape she's in. Once upon a time Jamal and husband applied for US citizenship. State Department screw-up?
20% chance they all finish.
40% chance 1 of them falls.
20% chance 2 of them fall.
10% chance 3 of them fall.
10% chance they all fall.
Oh, you wanted predictions on the winner?
I think that a lot of the Big Gals will try to get thier "A" in Eroupe later in the year. Cain is not a pro and her family will have to pay for travel. She needs a fast time in the US. So she may go for it.
Cain did set back and kick at the ASATF mile indoor in a very slow time. Reed had no problem with her indoors.
Then there is Worth Thomas. Will she go out fast like 2011 trails?
Can someone actually post the entirety of the entries?
as far as I can tell from the hearsay is that everyone except the Turkish doping crew are running.
Who is actually running?
Oops, that's the university one.
Here we go:
I see none of Cain, Uceny, etc in that link. Got another?
Coburn is in the 3k steeple at Payton Jordan as well
Excellent, thanks.
is this race on friday or saturday?
Cain, Grace and Coburn (if she runs) will all finish above the big three 2012 Olympians. The veterans will beat them when it counts in June.
