As the title says, can anyone teach me the basics of triple jump, or link me to some good resources or instructional videos(online or otherwise)? I've been poking around but can't find anything like I have for other field events.
If it makes a difference, I am a high school distance runner turned collegiate 400 runner turned (briefly) decathlete, and now I am coaching a high school team. The other two coaches were both distance runners also, so I basically am coaching all the field events. I know most of them decently well, except triple jump, which I know next to nothing about. I am vaguely aware that there is something called a cycle, that the arms drive forward on each jump, and that you're not supposed to get as high as in the long jump, but that's it.
I'd appreciate any advice on technique, coaching points/cues to look for, and the general structure of training.
