I'm staying closer to the start line than the finish. Is it possible to drive to the start myself and park somewhat close, then take the bus (or get a ride) back to the start afterwards to pick up my car? I imagine it's going to be tough either way with traffic and/or road closures, but which is the lesser of two evils?
You can park at the South Street parking area in Hopkinton and get a shuttle to the start

I try to get there around 7:30 or so every year, and I'm fine.
I've read that you can take a shuttle from the finish to the lot after the race, but I've never had to do that as I manage to get rides back or take the commuter rail home and have my wife take me to get the car later.

It's out of date and reads like someone's blog. Any better advice for people staying near the start line. Is it easy to get back to Milford? $1800 versus $800, I need to stay near the start.
And yeah I already googled it. There isn't much info out there on the post transportation. Mostly getting there stuff from downtown.
