I have had a 3 year layoff with very minimal running over the past 3 years. I have not really run more than 4 days a week since 2010. I coach a college team and ran with them 1-4 times a week over the past 2 years. I haven't really run at all this year though. What type of training plan can I do so that I can run a 2:35 marathon in about a year's time. I want to get my fitness back, I would be happy to go sub 16, break 33 and go 1:15 in the half and 2:35 in the full. I'm getting married in July and really want to give the marathon one more try before I settle down and have children.
