Can someone help me with workouts on sand dunes?
Is it possible to somewhat replicate Vo2Max workouts (400s/800s) on a tall sand dune? Some days I can't make it to the track but, I can make it to a dune.
Thank YOU!!!

dune
probably. You'd be better off on a regular hill, shifting sand will slow you down a lot. It will help strengthen your legs more than a regular hill would though.
Herb Elliot regularly ran on dunes. He was undefeated in the mile. Is there flat sand you can run on also? You'd be better doing a 20 minute tempo followed by 5-10 x 80m sand dunes HARD with walk down recovery.
Sand dunes are awesome. I used to run through them barefoot for a couple of hours every week.
Yes, great advice.

I have two pieces of advice for you:
try and get the poster named "Dunes Runner" to reply to you. He used to post here all the time. Obviously from his name alone, it is quite apparent that he is expert on the topic you are asking about (and furthermore, he was a lunatic, which should only be beneficial towards resolving this issue)
Read the book: Woman in the Dunes. It is by Kobe Abe. I believe it is about Vo2Max workouts on sand dunes, but I could be wrong (it's kinda hard to tell what it's about actually, but that's what I got out of it)
Keep it on the 'crete!
While running dunes may be a great workout, it is ecologically damaging. Dunes are generally part of a protective barrier beach and trampling on them leads to their destruction. Don't walk, or run, on dunes that are part of a barrier beach!

It is I.
I have been out running dunes..
You want to find the steepest hill you can of about 100m and run up and down until 'nearly dead', to quote Percy.. then you may one day be as good as me and Elliott
Why do you want to run on me?

It's true, I love pain in fact I embrace it.
Perhaps one of the 10 greatest running photos of all time.
