When you bomb a workout and just can't hit your paces or meet your goals, how do you feel and what do you do?

Water off a ducks back. Quack quack. Best forget about it. Eat, get ready for next run.
Be smart. Cut the distances in half and run them faster. If you are doing 6x600 and fall apart after 4, then do 4x300 at a harder effort instead of getting frustrated and skipping the last two or worse, trying to do them and getting upset or injured.
If you can't salvage the workout then jog for miles you want to get in that day.
I'm sure everyone has their own unique way of handling it. The worst you can do is dwell on a bad workout. There is no such thing as a great workout, only great training.
I take a small break. I think that when it's going well and you hit a slump taking it easy is a good choice.
The last time I had a really bad workout was in November. I was so frustrated that I decided to take it out on America by voting for Obama that very evening.
The training effect is still there wether or not you hit your times
Slugging it out on those tough days is what will make you a good runner
you shut it down for the day and just realize that the body is not up to the task. if this is happening multiple times per week, then you are simply asking too much. once every 2-3 weeks, though, is totally expected.

I like this ^ Great way to look at it.
I plan on having one in about an hour, so i'll let you know when I get back. It's hot as balls outside.
