I need assistance getting new shoes. I have a leg length discrepancy, my left leg is longer by about 1/2". I usually have hip flexor issues in the middle of running season (which sometimes affects my IT band) where i get sore lifting my left leg up. Even today if i pull my knee to my chest it only goes so far before starting to hurt and i haven't ran in a couple of years. So i'm trying to figure out how to alleviate this. Hoping the right shoes may help.
I read NB900 shoes are great training shoes on several threads in this forum. I went to google to look at it and it is not what i thought of when reading the threads about flats and minimalist shoes. Just want to make sure I'm looking at the right shoes.
New Balance 900

They look like regular bulky running shoes. I was thinking it would look like nike waffle racers or ultimate 81, mexico 66.
1. Why do they look so different yet are considered in the same minimalist shoe category in these threads?
2. Whichever shoe i pick should i put in orthodics on the right shoe?
3. Should I see a physical therapist about my hip flexor? Any suggestions.
Thank you all for your help.
