Very impressive!! especially this early! This would have been huge news in any other year without all the Cain hype. I believe last year she ran 4:42 for the full mile which is less than a second away from the freshman national record. She is a huge talent indeed.
Keep the ridiculously good/talented girls coming. We have to get to mid-d domination
The "Cain Effect" has a mixed effect for Alexa and other talents like her. On the one had, she is ten seconds behind Mary, on the other, she will be spared some of the downside of being so much in the spotlight, and has a great shot at being the top recruit for colleges next year. Overall a positive thing for Alexa and others of her level (Baxter among them).
The girl's class of '14 is blowing away all others in history, and it's not just Mary!
Yeah this was impressive.
"Come to Oregon."

Strong one, two punch for the US at world youth this year.

Good point.
I wouldn't overlook Laura Roesler either, even though she's already in college. Ran a strong leg on Oregon's winning 4x400 relay at the indoor NCAA nationals. Then shows up with a respectable performance in the 1500 two weeks later.

That is certainly some kind of uberniche record.

Great girl, awesome personality! Got a chance to meet her at NXN. I can say I'm glad her school, Camas, moved up to the 4A division so none of the girls on my team have to compete with her in 3A!

Roesler also has sub-12 100 meter speed. She could be a middle distance force in the near future.

So where exactly did she show that she has sub-12 speed? Did she race a 100m or something, or are you just assuming?
11.97. 24.51, 53.25 all at her state (SD) meet:http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&ATCLID=204971128

Roesler hasn't improved since she ran 2:03 at the Trials in 2008.

Uh, she just improved her 1500 time by 20 seconds.
Well Roesler has a lot more range than I expected. I guess that's what happens when I assume
