Anyone know anything about them? How well are they on the road? How natural is the stride? Do they have enough support to run over rocks sticking up without twisting an ankle?

Bump
I bought the first generation and they are garbage when there is any sort of moisture around. The rubber on the sole is terrible. I understand they changed the sole in the second gens so that may be better. I took them on a run up a colorado 14er and twisted my ankles 10 to 15 times on the way down on rocks. That is partly on me but I ran the trail again in brooks launch and twisted my ankles once. They are a little too narrow for me but on the roads they are nice (even though that is not their intended use).
My two cents...
Off topic a little...I got the Connect and loved it. I got the Connect 2 and hate it. I got a bunch of crappy, little injuries from them because they are so soft. Also, the new fit sucks compared to the first. Brooks blew it on the update.
Well, I was going to ask about the connects, but I decided not to. You read my mind!
Good shoe for road and trail. Poor grip compared to other trail shoes. Perfect amount of cushioning for long runs. Heel/toe drop feels great.
The 2 looks like the traction was superior, but, to me, the 2 felt stiffer.
Above opinions are about right. For not too technical dry trails, they are great. For anything loose and even a speck of moisture, you are screwed. One run I go on has 2 miles of pavement connecting to the trail and it started to rain on the way back; it was like running on ice. I've relegated them now to just really specific trail runs and swapped the insole for the PureDrift to lower the Grits and raise the cushion on the Drift to get past their stupid midsole issues.
Have not tried the 2s, but the runblogger review was not too favorable.
Great updates to the second generation grits...I liked to call the first generation the pure sh*ts. The traction in the second generation is much more grippy on wet rocks and roots. The shoe feels very natural on the trails, but kind of clunky on the roads. For me, I have not noticed a significant difference in ankle stability between these shoes and other more minimal trail running shoes.
Hope this helps.
