I girl I coach just ran 2.11 indoors after 6 months of training 4-5 days a week, running about 25mpw. She is a junior. Does she have good potential? What would be a respectable improvement as a senior?

2.11? What's that, like 10 meters?
2:11 for 800 or 600?
640 yds (4 laps of 160y)
For 800m, it was a time trial indoors are a 200m track
I may be confused, so correct me if I'm wrong. The junior in HS girl who has been training for 6 months, running 25 mpw (probably a mix of distance and speed, but perhaps just distance) and she runs a 640 yard time trial, which computes to approx. 3 minutes flat for 800 meters if she keeps the same pace, which she may or may not do in a race.
1/2 of the girls varsity soccer or basketball teams can run a 3:00 1/2 mile.
Now the good news...
If the girl you coach has a passion for running and seriously trains year round she could have a good senior track season.
Good luck! Keep us posted on her progress.
2:11 800m after 6 months is phenomenal for a girl.
Thanks for highlighting my big time trial coach.
2:05 if you are a decent coach and she can stay healthy.
