Do you guys do one everyday, every other day or something else? I'm wondering how often I should do my abs.

it is different for everyone. you can typically train abs 2 days in a row, and then rest one day. some people go every other day. you could also train lower abs one day and then higher up abs the next. it is good to get into a routine. i do abs to days in a row, then take a rest day. so I basically do abs on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri. Never on the weekends.
I go every day. Never do any monster workouts though. Just 10 or 15 minutes while I'm sitting in front of the tv.
Once a week.
If you can repeat an activity every day, your protocol is worthless for the purpose of improving muscular strength. In order to be effective, activities aimed at improving strength must be hard enough that a recovery period of several days is required between workouts.
interesting point! for the most part I agree. but just one day a week of abs does not seem like enough to me. can you explain what you do during that one day. i am guessing you pretty much kill ur abs.

Once or twice per week is the correct answer for the vast majority.
You train abs, lumbar region, etc. as you train other muscle groups. You train them very hard, you train them very briefly, and you add weight and/or reps whenever possible.
4 days per week.

In the qua?
Ab workouts are not core workouts, and they're not that important in the real world. They're mainly for mirror monkeys and plank showoffs at the gym.
The core muscles are not visible. They are "core" because they're deep inside the body, and most kinetic chains run through them. There are four, the diaphragm, pelvic floor, transversus abdominis, and multifidus. Their function is to keep the spine from moving, unlike the external abdominal muscles which plantarflex the lumbar spine.
A properly functioning core is vital for full-body movements, because the spine must be temporarily immobilized to transfer energy between the upper and lower body. This is why boxers and throwers exhale in the middle of their movement - the diaphragm is contracting to stabilize the spine, without which energy would be wasted in lumbar spine movement, in addition to risk of spinal injury.
To see how your core functions, stand still and then suddenly throw your arm upward, and observe how your posture changes. The external abdominals (r. abdominus, obliques, etc) should play little to no role in that. If they do, it's because the real core muscles are weak.
There's no point overdeveloping the abs except for aesthetics. The core is developed by any activity that uses it, which is just about all of them. It does pay to practice core activation techniques, but that's not really a workout.
