I have been doing the program pretty consistently to get ready for Boston. My goal was originally just a 2:50-something but last workout and tempo run seemed faster. I did 14 miles from 13-26.2 (then to the Common) easily at 6:48 pace on the Boston Marathon course last week. I've hit 50-65 miles per week for the last 8 weeks. How fast do I go on this 16.3 miler? The "pace" is according to the Hanson Marathon Method charts in the book.
Here are my last few weeks:
3/3 (58)- 4 x 1.5 miles - 800 rest - 9:13 average = 2:45 pace 8 mile tempo (treadmill) - 6:31 pace = 2:50 pace
2/24 (58) - 6 x mile - 400 rest - 6:13 average = 2:47 pace
8 mile tempo (outdoors, 35) - 6:39 - 2:54 pace
14 miles - 6:48 pace (Miles 13.1-26.2)
2/17 (66)- 3 x mile - 400 rest - 5:48 average = 17:50 5K pace
7 mile tempo (outdoors, 45) - 6:26 - 2:48 pace
