JOGATHON, ELBOWS, AND WILINESS FOR THE YOUNGSTER!!
JOGATHON, ELBOWS, AND WILINESS FOR THE YOUNGSTER!!
Vaughn threw an elbow first, so I was glad to see Cain throw it right back.
Closed int 58.6 over 400, not to shabby.
5:03, hahahaha, so slow.
I could run way faster and I'm old!
it was a 5:05, and Brie Felnagle finished 3rd, nice closing speed, she is a going to be a beast at 5K.

But could you close in 58 ?

What was her last lap?
Cain is making enemies with those wild elbows.
Maybe if uceny was more assertive she would have fell...
Yes, very easy to run at altitude. Right thing to do is to run a tactical race, which is what Cain did FTW. Good coaching?

It's a contact sport. Time to move on. This is one of the reasons why Cain needed to get beyond h.s. competition. She will look good in a hoodie.
so slowww, what a joke of a race.
it doesn't look good for her to be racing these pro races for the fact that the actual pros are trying to make a living off of it, while Cain isn't. I think stuff like this should be restricted to people who actually need it.
To make an example you guys might understand, how would you feel if a fresh unpaid intern came into your office, make some kind of breakthrough in the business process that reduces manpower needs, leading to you and your buddies getting less hours on the job...while this person is on a full-ride scholarship or is just a kid being supported by their parents who doesn't need the job to survive?

Those pro runners are free to be supported by their parents also. They could also get an actual job. Running isn't that hard.
It's not Cain's fault. They should have trained better.

This went from FTW to WTF in a hurry. These pros are lucky Cain's not taking a slice of their pie yet. This was the U.S. championships . . .doesn't matter if you're pro or amateur. And there were a number of athletes there who were not sponsored.
Give me a break. If these "pros" can't even beat a high school girl, they don't deserve to be pros. It's that simple.
so, if you're a software developer or website developer at a company, and a 15 yr old wunderkind friend of the boss comes in, does work that causes your position to be obsolete, does that mean you shouldn't be a software developer? afterall, a 15 yr old blows you away in programming skills...you should have went the route of a plumber...how does that sound now?
i feel for the pros who might get less of an endorsement by shoe companies because a junior in high school is taking their fire.
I understand what you're saying but I don't know why it's such a problem. This is what happens. Survival of the fittest.
Cain isn't taking anyone's fire. All of the people that she beat just refuse to run anything other than a tactical race because they don't have the guts that she does.
So what's the plan for Ms Cain this year?
She has World Juniors in Eugene next year. But what is gonna get up to this Summer?
Possibly mingle with the top dogs in a few diamond league races?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
