I was wondering what shoes are similar to the Asics 2090 running shoes. I recently tried running in Adidas Supernova Control shoes, and it felt like I was running on platforms. The shoes felt really heavy and I couldn't run as fast as usual. I noticed that the Adidas Rotterdam II shoes were labeled "stability, for mild to moderate pronators," so I was wondering if this shoe would be better for me since it is lightweight. Does anyone know anything about this shoe?
ALL Adidas stability shoes resemble running on platforms. For a comparable 2090 stability shoe try Mizuno or Brooks models...the Brooks Adrenaline is very popular.
I alternate the 2080/2090 with the Nike Air Structure Triax. The new model is just out (haven't tried it yet) and it is supposed to be a bit smoother. Also, the Mizuno Wave Mercury should be comparable. The Brooks Adrenaline is an exceptional stability shoe, but is bulkier, as is the Saucony Grid Omni.
I concur on the Nike Triax Stability...a good shoe, much better than the Adidas Stability models. Only negative is less cushion in toe area but I use an insert to alleviate that.

If you want to stay in asics, the new Empire (replacement of creed) has a little more support and is really nice.
Others comperable from different brands are... Mizuno Alchemy, Brooks Adrenaline (probably most similar to 2090), Nike Air Kantara (more support, but nice shoe), New Balance 1221 (same deal as kantara), and the Saucony Grid Omni (great new update to this shoe). I don't know anything about adidas shoes though.
