Deadspin Responds To Kevin Hadsell's Denials - Many sources says he lied during the television interview

We now are featuring that story as our new QOD:

"My freshman year, he used to send me inappropriate texts as well. I just remember him texting me during a football game when we were selling 50/50 tickets and saying that he wanted to have a competition with me to see who could sell more. So I was a freshman and wanted my coach to like me so I agreed. Well, he ended up winning and said that I owed him something. I just brushed it off and he kept saying things about wishing that he was 10 years younger."

She believes Hadsell was "testing the waters, to see how I would respond" to the flirtatious texts. Those texts stopped, she said, when she began dating someone later her freshman year.

"It just made me so upset to see him lying on television. I think he can be a great guy, he's very funny, and he was someone that you wanted to make proud.

I think he's just a single 42-year-old whose job is to be around young girls that are fit and looking for attention being that they just graduated from high school and do not have their parents around to show them that kind of attention anymore.

Not to quibble, but how low has Letsrun sunk if you're using the words of an anonymous source as your quote of the day? Also, interesting flip - yesterday you proudly broadcasted a blatantly sexist remark in the same space you're now quoting someone (who may or may not exist) complaining of someone's sexism. AWESOME SAUCE!!!

Not to quibble, but I read through the latest from Deadspin and what strikes me most, other than its irrelevance, isn't that a handful of unnamed people supposedly had bad things to say about their former coach. It's how FEW people had bad things to say about him, given what a shit bag he is being portrayed as by his accuser. The Deadspin reporter seems to be obsessed with Kevin Hadsell and obviously went to extreme lengths to try to uncover dirt about him, and the best he could do is get one athlete from six years ago to say he was out of line in some way? Seriously...that's a pretty impressive record, the ugliness of the present day notwithstanding.

This story proves nothing as it pertains to the false sexuakl harrassment claims. That's all Hadsell cares about. He doesn't care if he coaches. I know he already is working. He's going to sue so start figuring out your second mortgage. Once the depositions start to get a full picture of her character, maybe we will post everyones comments on here as well.

Kevin has no case. He was not forced to resign for sexual harrassment. I think the funniest thing is that this guy has lost his pipeline. AF will figure it out shortly and he couldn't find a woman with $1,000 in his pocket on the streets of Vegas.

Not to quibble, but although he may not have a case against the young lady who seems to have been lying her little butt off (and is he even planning to sue anyone? Where did that come from?) he could well sue Letsrun if they don't change what they wrote about him on the front page.

I read the Deadspin article and nowhere in there do even the writer's anonymous sources say that Hadsell and a current student are sexually or romantically linked. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken

This poster clearly knows him. The real question is, why does Emma so badly want to see him burn?

I don't know Emma or Coach Hadsell, but there's something more to this story than either party is letting on.

Not to quibble, but for one thing, no one who works for Deadspin is a reporter any more than the guy who picks up road kill for the state of Ohio is a wildlife biologist.

For another, I ask you again, where in any of that story does it say that "Caitlin" and Hadsell were involved when she was a student? It DOESN'T.

Does that mean it didn't happen? Not necessarily but if I were you I would really be careful what you say on the front page.

And it sure looked to me like the QOTD came from one anonymous source, but evenif it was ten anonymous sources is that any better? Is there really so little else going on in the track world that you have to go there?
