I guess he'll just have to run a 26:3x in the WC then.
I demand a huge pr in the 10k this year

Fluffy I like how you hated on Rupp and now jump on his bandwagon... at least you're better than stick with eharmony
So what's the big 10k going to be this year, Payton Jordan? Hengelo? Maybe Pre Classic?
I bet Alberto will cook something up at the Pre Classic with Rupp and/or Farah looking to run extremely fast.
This is WHY that have that 10000 at Pre.
First WXC, then 10K. Distance events in international meets are being phased out because nobody gives a shit ("lack of interest" is how Renato put it). That's why you have all these young Kenyans running marathons.
Presumably, 5000 is next.
This is kind of old news as far as 10000M races not being run much anymore. But I hope this distance doesn't get on the chopping block of Olympic events. Or if it does, they need to replace it with something in between a 5000M and the marathon. Maybe a half marathon becomes a new Olympic event?

He?
Good. 10k does not belong on the track. Never did. It's a road event.
If 10k runners concentrate on the road races now, they'll go faster than on the track, if they really try that is. They run way farther than 10k on the track, what with all the 50 turns out in lane 2 or 3, an extra 100 meters or more.

I never hated on Rupp. He's one of my favorite runners. Also no one is better than stick with eharmony.

Not sure why he couldn't change his mind about someone. Not really a big deal. This isn't elementary school where the nerdy kids aren't allowed to like something. Grow up.
I love distance, but I can see track meets becoming more popular if the 3000 was the longest event. At 13:00 a 5000 could still work, but keep it moving.
Although, and this may be my distance bias, I think the 2012 Olympic 10,000 was very exciting.

TRUTH - Here are the purposes of racing the following:
Roads: to determine the best distance runner.
Track: to determine the fastest runner for each distance
XC: to determine the toughest distance runner - see how one can handle various surface geometry and various types of surfaces.
rather than 5000 and 10000, we could throw in short distance (~5-10k), middle distance (~12-25k, aimed at 10 miles or half)) and keep in the marathon as long distance.
