I know people are going to accuse me of being sexist with this post. But when you look at the designs of our bodies. The female skeletal system has a wide pelvis and is not designed by evolution to run as fast as the male body. The wide pelvis is for child birth. On the other hand..the male body had to run fast in the hunting and gathering process to provide for the family. obviously....the times for men are way faster than the times for women at all distances. yes, pam reed won the bad water ultra...but the ultra race is kind of just booming. my question stands...are women that run lots of miles going against their bodies mechanism. many female runners are built way different than the average women - and i won't go into detail. many females also get slower when they develop the wider hips and are fastest before they hit puberty. i know that someone will respond lashing out at me here...but all seriousness.
