when it's as slow as 2:20, i automatically assume the last lap is 50.xx.
2:20.00 + x + 50.00 = y
after 800, they would begin striding out. making the 300 windup into the final 400 kick being somewhere around 45 seconds. In the end, I guess around 3:55 high 3:56 low.
They were about 3:08 @ 1100
This is my favourite type of race. I used to go to the front and try to slow races as much as I could. One time I got a first lap of an 800 to be 28/38.

That's a great video. Cool music and great racing. Normally people mis-judge a slow one like that the but the winner David Bustos was perfect.
I have the 700 in about 2:03.8 so the last 800 leader to leader is about 1:53.2 done approximately as follows.

25.8
Last 400 of 52.8 and last 600 of 1:21.2.
Bustos seemingly is a good racer. He's 22.
In 2007, he was 4th at world youth champs.
In 2009, he won European junior gold.
In 2012, he won a European bronze.
Went out in 1st round of Olympics.

Means 28 secs for 200m, then 38 secs for following 200m. 66 secs for a 400m.

Clock clearly reads 3.52.38 - so something is off in the results. Hard to believe they'd be off by 5 seconds though.
