I just read that there is not out of competition testing in South Africa. That was also why Lance wasn't afraid of getting caught- at the time there was no out of competition testing in cycling.
I don't think he did it for the para part of it, he was trying to break through to the open competition and, face it, at his level he would have gotten very few invitations if he had his own legs. Not to mention that he was aided up to 2 seconds the way he was.

Neither guns nor steroids are illegal. They are both readily available for legal purposes. People use them for illegal purposes, or in the case of sports, rule-violating purposes.

I think what typical gun nut meant to say is steroids are banned "in sports". What you said doesn't really help in the argument in any way (it's not like we don't know what happens in the real world. Steroids are NOT over-the-counter drugs. You'd need prescription for them. OR the selling of them is illegal if you don't already know that).

It must have been there before. Not unrealistic. There aren't too many 400m stars that are clean.
BTW, I think he should've argued on the gun control issues because there's no arguing about banning guns as it goes against the civilian gun right given by the Constitution (here in the US we're talking about).
