what is a good rule of thumb conversion?
1k x 1.7 = mile
I just made it up
There is no conversion they are two different events...
Hey guys I ran a 400 the other day in 52. What does that convert to for a 10k? Anyone know a good rule of thumb conversion?
x1.609 + 6-8 seconds, depending on how fast you are. If slower than 4:40, add more.
This guy is crazy. That means a 2:30 1000m would convert to a 4:00 mile.

4:06 - 4:08 is what it predicts for 2:30. I know it works for me.
4:08 - 4:10 is what I meant, sorry.
"plus six to eight seconds", not "plus six minus 8 seconds" (which would just be minus 2 seconds).
3:00 -> 5:13
2:55 -> 5:04
2:50 -> 4:55
2:45 -> 4:46
2:40 -> 4:37
2:35 -> 4:28
2:30 -> 4:19
2:25 -> 4:10
2:20 -> 4:01
I couldn't touch 2:30 when I ran 4:19?
