Look. Jk is a genius. I have no idea what he uses for his conversions but I doubt there is any arguing with it.
A 600 is now where close to an 800 so you'd slow down a ton.
Solomon's splits were as follows:
23.50
25.34 (48.84)
26.86 (1:15.70)
So he's added on 1.84 seconds and 1.52 seconds. Let's just say
But realize he's just finihsed a race where he was basically all out. So if you add on another 200, it's going to take a lot longer. But let's say he runs his final 200 1.52 seconds slower than this 3rd. That's a 28.38 which would give him a 1:44.08.
For him to run his PR of 1:42.82, he'd have to run a final 200 of 27.12 which isn't happening. He'd have to almost not slow down at all.
The person who showed that talked about Loxsom has it best. Loxsom just ran 1:46 high and he ran 1:15.79. So JK's conversion is about right.
A 1:15 while the American record isn't out of this world good. I mean remember Johnny Gray once ran 1:12.81 outdoors for 600. Now that's good.
Solomon talked about running a world indoor record. It is 1:15.12. I wonder what JK thinks that's equal to.
