Last minute A-standards among our 1500m/5K/10K men???

It would shock you if Donnelly got close to the 'A' standard? Why? He ran 28:02 last year and he's been running very well of late... 13:35 in Canada in June and a 28:18 solo run at the Trials. Mike is tough and determined and it would not surprise me to see him get close and potentially dip under the standard. Hopefully he gives it a good bash...

I doubt any of the longer distance guys will get it. It is hard to run a long race for a time. Every lap you are hearing your split and trying not to fall off pace. And the Olympic A standard in the 5k/10k is too slow for the guys to be in a competitive race if they are right at 13:20...so they will be semi-detached from the front group and racing the clock which is a real bitch. And if they try to go with the front so as to get in the race and ignore the clock they will die because they are not in 13:00 shape...so I say no-go on the 5k/10k

The 1500m guys would have a chance if they had a sack between the two of them. I liked Gruber earlier on but what the hell was he doing at the back of the pack? He's supposed to be chasing the A standard. In the 1500m it's much better to go out hard and hang on for it. Sitting back and kicking for the time is retarded...get up there in the race and get involved...

Lunn at the back of the pack is no big surprise, which is too bad because the dude has the talent to get the A for sure. He almost had it in his last European race...he really has to be ballsy though and go for it. 3:44 is not encouraging. Lunn, if you can hear us, just go out hard and die man, you'll run 3:35 no prob...

At least we've got Webb to entertain us. I think he is going to help redefine for America how to run a race...
