I'm familiar with the time commitment to run for a D3 school, but how does that compare to D1? Also, even though the Ivy League schools are D1, is the running commitment in those schools typical of other D1 schools, or is it less?
These are questions we will ask of coaches of course when my daughter starts doing college visits, but I'd like to get a sense of what you all think it's like beforehand so we can possibly weed out some schools.
Just to stop the skeptical questions, she has taken early ACT and something called The Plan Test, and she has been contacted by basically every top notch school east of the Rockies (including most of the Ivies) in the last two weeks, with the communication mentioning her test scores and "outstanding academic achievement". She wants to run in college, so being able to do so is one of the criteria. In looking at some of the Ivy League rosters and their CC times from last year, she would be top 10 on average for them right now. Hopefully she will continue to improve.
Looking forward to your insight.
Thanks.
