What's a good martial art for running cross-training?
Looking for something:
- Fun!
- Aerobically intense.
- With (relatively) low risk of injury. At 43, the body takes longer to bounce back. :-(
- Cross-training, so not super leg intensive.
Thanks.

Anyone? Bueller?
A friend of mine was an excellent local masters runner (low 16 5k, 75 min 1/2). He was also big on martial arts. He pulled a hamstring doing a kick and that was pretty much the end of his running.
I haven't tried it, but Brazilian Jujitsu. Rolling (grappling on the ground) is said to be very aerobically intense and I can see why.
tackle football is the most effective martial art in the world. It teaches the most important fighting skills there are in the real world: maneuvering over a large area, tackling, and breaking tackles.
play football.
