Of course Alan hit the A standard for the 1500 many times, but do you think he could have also hit the standards for the 8 and 5k as well? I think the 8 is around 1:45.7? 5k 13:21

Yup.
800 maybe, 5000 not a chance
He coulda hit the A in the 800. Not the 5000
If Riley could hit the 'A' off 3:38 speed, why can't Webb? Do you really think Riley is that much stronger than Webb?I have no doubt Webb could hang with and outkick Riley in a 5000...
I think he can run 1:45 low and be right at the 5000m standard. It'd be close but I bet he can run 13:20.
Guys, he ran 13:46 at Penn with a 56 last lap.
Remember that he was 4th at 12k cross country nationals.
He has the strength to run 13:21.
Torres and Kennedy both beat him and neither of them came close to the standard this year. Wow, he ran a 56 last lap. All of a sudden that means he can run 25 seconds faster for 5,000? Give me a break
I think he could do the 5k much more likely than the 800. I do think both are possible though.

They beat him at 12K! They are supposed to beat him at 12K.
But if you bump it down to 5k where Webb's awesome footspeed becomes a factor, he will be beating them. Guarantee it.
By the way, Kennedy ran a 13:27 this year. And are you honestly telling me that Louis Luchini can run 13:25 and Webb can't?
800m yes but not 5k
YES-although we will never know this year because he focused on the 1500m; however, I think Alan COULD VERY WELL have easily qualified in the 5000m and 800m. I think he would have down better in the 5000m than the 800m if he trained for it and could have run at least 13:10 range this year and 1:44.95 (if he trained specifically for either).

Yes for the 800 also.
13:20 for the 5000 is 2:40/K, Webb ran 2 indoor 3000's in 9:00 and 8:59, that is 2:40/k pace. With more specific training and racing it fully recovered that is as fast as he could expect to go this year.
i was in the race at penn when webb closed, it was impressive. for the larger part of the race he was actually running on NCAA regional qualifying pace of 14:18, his last few laps were sick.
he could hit 13:20's for 5k.
Wait he had to run faster than 9:00 in the 3000 that is slow. He would have to run the last 2000 in 4:20 to get 13:20 and that would be well under world record mile pace about 3:30.
no need to be a smart ass. you knew he meant 8:00 and 7:59
Yes Kennedy did beat him at 12K but everyone seems to forget Webb ran the 4k the day before in 6 inches of snow/ice. I think Webb is a beast and could of gotten the A in the 5k.
Willis did it.
Two days ago I heard that Webb is going to run an 800m race next week. Is this true? If so, we will see what he is capable of. I am certain he can go sub 1:46 if the pace goes through in 52 for him.
About the 5km, the guy suprises people a lot in distance races. He kicked butt in the Big 10s xcountry race as a frehshman on 60 miles per week. He won xcountry meets against notable Daniel Lincoln. So, I'd say that guy has a lot more aerobic power than people give him credit for. Tinman
