Great run for her in Victoria, BC. Cool morning at only 1C, but she powered to a negative split 25:28.

Holy crap! How fast is that for a girl?
Course is short, Natasha is good but not that good.
Not only is the course NOT short, it is NOT easy or "fast" either. This was a big breakthrough for her.
Any idea what 10km time you could extrapolate from this or what an equivalent men's time is for comparison?
Impressive time but common now there's not one Canadian women within 2 or 3 minutes of the A standard for 10,000m. Report back to us if she runs at least 32:10 on the track.
That time makes no sense. Almost 2 1/2 minutes faster than she ran there the last 2 years ? And no progression to support that at all. That's crazy. Or, she will be challenging to win the World Cross Country in March.
really????!? wrote:

It's 25:28
Beat the course record by 40 seconds that was set 27 years go? Seems a bit fishy...
WOMEN
26:08 Debbie Bowker 1986
26:29 Lucy Smith 1992
26:44 Ulla Marquette 1985
26:53 Ulla Marquette 1987
27:03 Tina Connelly 2006
27:15 Ulla Marquette 1984
27:17 Ulla Marquette 1990
27:18 Cheryl Murphy 2008
27:20 Ulla Marquette 1996
27:22 Leah Pells 2005
27:25 Ulla Marquette 1990
27:26 Lucy Smith 2003
There are at least a half dozen canadian girls much faster than her at any time.. the course was probably 7.5 km. Get thy head out of thy ass.
seems to be a lot of jealous guys on here.
Geoff Martinson's winning time of 23:49 makes sense, so Natasha's run must be legit, and a huge breakthrough run for her. That's a very fast time on a rolling road course on a cold day. Is she training with Cam Levins ? Just kidding.
And her time is over a minute faster than several women who have run between 32:20 - 32:50 on the track, and 40 seconds faster than the previous record-holder, who has a 4:05 and 8:43 to her credit. Natasha's run equates to something well under 32 minutes for 10K on the track.

I would expect her to continue to post some quick times then!
Full results?

There's another possible explanation.
You know what they say, if it looks and quacks like a duck...
Saw her run past me. Very impressive runner, she came in 5th place overall.
Thats too fast for martinson too. Dude is washed up! get on with life bro!
Well, did you notice that she ran some pretty good 10,000m races in June? 25:28 is not really superior to those races.
She trains with the SFU varsity men's cross-country team and with that time she's probably now their fastest runner!
