I'm a long time Vomero fan and have worn them since I started running in 8th grade. They've always had an amazing shoe not changing it much BUT NOW THEY TOOK OUT A LOT OF CUSHION AND FEATURES. If you are upset too please email Nike about it, like I am, and maybe they will listen and change the Vomero back for the better. The VOMERO+ went down the drain.
They're still one of my favorite shoes, but they feel more like a Pegasus than a Vomero.
I have 781 miles on my Vomero 7s right now and they still feel good.
Ian no!! Dude have you ran in the Vomero 1-5. They are so amazing and great cushion. The 6's were pretty good too but now the 7's really don't have the cushioning they once had. It feels so rigid and hard when I land instead of soft. Well, everyone's different so I'm glad you still enjoy them but I definitely agree with the OP.
I don't know if all that bouncy cushioning is actually good. It feels good but I have a sneaking suspicion that its actually bad for you. I noticed I run lot less on "cruise control" w/ 7. I'm actually trying to run with better form.
I'm still undecided on 7.

I started with the Vomero 5, and then went through 2 pairs of 6s. Now on the 7s.
I think they arent as soft as they used to be either. But they are still more cushioned than any other nike shoe, right?
If not I might need to change.
If it was up to me I'd run with pillows strapped to my feet. I don't want to feel any shock/pounding when I hit the ground.
I loved the vomero 5's even ran 2 marathons in them, tried the 6's hated them, tried the 7's on not impressed. Switched to brooks glyerin,
I loved the Vomero 2 through 5 but then I jumped ship to Hoka One One Bondi. I like copious amounts of cushion.
Well, the Pegasus doesn't feel like the Pegasus anymore either, so...
And I only went to the Pegasus after they screwed up the Air Moto...
who the hell still buys shoes? this is what i did. buy the nike free run 2 and run on grass only. i swear to god, i have over 10,000 miles on my free runs and they still work fine

I'm not sure what a vomero is but my opinion is the cold weather gave me smurf dick.
I've already sent Nike e-mails complaining about the horrible fit of the first version of their "premier" cushioned trainer and the sloppy, unresponsive, fashion-athletic-shoe cushioning and performance of the 2nd - 6th versions. Which is why they finally made the appropriate changes and the 7th version is finally a premier cushioned RUNNING shoe.
