This has to be it. Sort of like going on Larry King.
This will be interesting.
I hope she does her research well and asks him the tough questions he should be faced with.
How did he escape the testers?
Did he ever test positive?
Who helped him get the drugs? UCI coverup?
Who else was doping.
Why did he destroy so many peoples lives when he was accused by them of cheating.
What happens to the money he won?
How many lawyers and PR experts were involved in this? I am expecting to puke in my mouth as I listen to it, since every word will have been analyzed and analyzed again before they come out of his mouth...
It will be horrible.
The sponsors dropping him must have triggered this. Possibly he needs an infusion of cash. I wonder if Oprah is paying him for this. not certain if she has ever given a guest an appearance fee. Probably not.
This would have been a great interview for Barbara Walters. It might have been her highest rated interview in her career.
The special 90-minute Thursday night episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter will air Thursday, January 17 on Winfrey’s cable network OWN. The interview will also be streamed live on Oprah.com.
That's not for another 9 days.
Oprah is not a good interviewer. She asks questions then immediately cuts off the person with her own interpretation of the answer.
Charlie Rose listens and is thoughtful. He would be a lot better.
Lance won't confess. He's going to talk about the witch hung and how he was refused a fair trial. I agree with him.

You have it incorrect. Lance was not refused a fair trial. Far from it. Just the opposite really. He refused to go to trial.
Lance belongs in prison for perjury.
He lied under oath about PEDs. I could care less about the tactics USADA used to nail him. I personally think the players unions have it all wrong in terms of PED tests. They think it's an invasion of privacy. Far from it. Rigorous testing at all hours of the night, all over the globe is actually great for pro athletes. Why? Because without it - they will be forced to either do PEDs or be uncompetitive. If there is a strong anti-doping movement, then they can rely on talent and hard work to take them to the top.
Oprah? I can't believe. What a freaking low life.
I guess he knows that Oprah fell for Marion's lies so he thinks it will happen again.

My immediate reaction exactly. He sees it as part of his "route to redemption", getting the Head Power Puff Girl on his side.
Rojo - Ignore J.R.
In the past he has said EPO doesn't not work. He is delusional.
Lance deserves to serve prison time for lying.
No, you have it wrong. Lance was refused a trial, which he wanted, and told he had to go to a biased arbitration, which he rightfully refused.
Lance has not been convicted of anything. He was refused a trial, because there was no evidence and they knew he would win. People who win in court don't go to prison.
That has not been proven, and is false unless and until proven otherwise.
Good grief are you serious??????
You appear to think drugs make the world go round and that no one can compete well without them.
I think that's a bunch of hogwash and not true at all.
Answer this question for me, does it take drugs to run a women's world record in the marathon? Yes or no.
One of the major things wrong with the U.S. today is disrespect for people all around the world, including invasion of people's personal privacy. People are being brainwashed to think it's okay to have your personal life slandered and broadcast to the world. Truth doesn't matter to most people anymore, and that is a sad state of affairs.

Actually I said that it does not work.
EPO is big business and has nothing to do with health or fitness. The medical corporations want you to think that drugs work. If you thought they didn't work then you wouldn't keep buying them.

This is what I was thinking.
Lance was most likely on PED's in the most dirtiest sport. That being said he did not gain any advantage since all the top competitors were dopers.
There is a performance enhancing arms race and no biological passport is going to be a barrier to doping. As a matter of fact some smart people have already found some ways around it. Savor the flavor...

However you did need to take drugs to be a competitive cyclist in the 1990s and 2000s. One simply could not be competitive in a long stage race without using them. You might check out the several tell all accounts by cyclists who have admitted to doping. The one constant in all of these confessions is that doping was so systemic that they simply had to use PEDs to maintain a professional career. It would be very easy for the PED arms race that developed in cycling to occur in running without the sort of vigilance that Rojo mentioned.
Sorry, bro. But I think your laissez-faire approach has been proven wrong by recent history. I recognize your privacy concerns, but it strikes me as a reasonable sacrifice to keep our sport alive.
The percentage of cyclists using PEDs in the Tour de France is equal to the percentage of bodybuilders using in the Arnold Classic.
No one challenges the bodybuilders. Everyone just knows.
Lance is still the greatest Tour rider in history. All the great stars from Anquetil on forward- excepting Hinault and Lemond- tested positive. And, can you say the two of them were clean during their 8 Tour victories? Probably not.
While on the show, as a good will gesture, Lance should hand Oprah a handful of bennies and tell her to drop some lbs.

That's why they used the drugs, because they believed in them.
I don't. See. Big difference.
People who believe in the drugs are the same ones who use them.
We are in the era of "faith based" organizations, family planning, and now doping...J.R. as much as you try to believe otherwise, drugs work extremely well. It has been proven in the athletic arena countless times.

I find it silly why people care so much how fast a grown man can ride a bicycle.

Right. You have faith in the drugs.
J.R. as much as you try to believe otherwise, drugs work extremely well. It has been proven in the athletic arena countless times.
All that has been proven is that you and many others believe in them.
Cherries are actually much more effective.

I certainly believe in cherries. I try to take as many of them as I can.
