who ya got?
who ya got?
Like, right now? This minute? Rupp all the way! No question.
that matchup already happened at the 2011 NYC HM, and Hall was a non-factor
I was reading in a Canova thread earlier today that he expects when one is in top marathon shape, running a pr or fast relative to one's ability over 21 K is very difficult. Since Hall's efforts are focused on the marathon, and since he is training under Canova, I would guess that he is a considerable amount of time away from Rupp in the marathon distance.
We be talking about the half Mary, bro. No full Mary on the table.

We be taking about what we wanna talk about. You are not the boss of this here thread.
And, yes, Rupp is afraid to run a "real" 'thon. Thinks he is a 10ker but is stucked between that and the 'thon as his best distance.

Oops, 'Hall is a considerable amount of time behind Rupp over the HALF-marathon distance'.
Happy 2013

You don't keep up on the news much do you?
Coach Salazar is keeping Rupp on the track and under 26.3 until after Rio.

Rio means "river".
Rio Grande = Big River
I'll take Rupp at any distance from the 40 yard dash to the Western States 100 Miler.
I think if you made the two of them toe the line today, Hall would win. However, whether it be from the consistent training or natural talent, I think Rupp is the better runner between the two and with any focused training on the longer distances could take Hall. Rupp also seems to be a bit more of a gamer, so in a true race situation rather than a TT-like setting, I think he has the upper hand.
I thought her name was Rio and she danced on the sand.
Rupp (30) and Hall (33) will be old track dudes by the the time the next Ollies roll around.
Their best shot at "Rio" is to "dance across the Rio Grande," as Duran Duran sung in their song.

Are you joking unless they ran it 5 years ago Hall could not get close to him.
Eh, I could be wrong. I thought maybe Rupp is might do some shorter stuff on the indoor track soon, so might not be so distance focused at the moment. (I don't know what his race plans actually are). And since Hall is always doing longer stuff and has more experience at the distance, if we woke them at up 9am this morning and said "half marathon, go!" Hall could win it. I do agree though in the sense that I think Rupp could take Hall at any race distance.
Rupp by 2 minutes
More like Rupp by 3 minutes.
Rupp will break the American Record when Salazar wants him too. I'm not a fan of Rupp or Salazar, but he'll run 59:0X or 58:5x when it's all said and done.
