Oh dear.
It sounds like he might go for it.
I love it.
I call - 10.45, 21.00 and 46.75! (which are worlds away from Bolt, obviously.)
He'd give Bolt a run for his money...on turf while wearing full pads and carrying a football.
I can't see him in a 400. Why 200/400? That seems odd, unless he is just admitting that there is no way he could compete speed-wise in the 100, but the longer the sprint, the more hard work and desire come into play? Who knows.
I think he'd run much faster than those times. Peterson ran 10.66 and 21.29 in high school.

That 100 time would win my state in a bad year, but that 200 time could compete for the state championship every year.
But if you want to be Bolt, you should have been running those times at like age 14.
I don't care if he can't break 11 seconds for 100m, I'd LOVE to see this.
They should scrap the pro bowl and get all the best athletes in the NFL to a track meet. I heard Vince Wilfork is a beast over the hurdles.

Not bad at all, but Bolt was much faster in high school. The guy was a prodigy, whether you think he's a doper or not.
They should set-up an exhibition 100 meter dash between Bolt and all of the NFL players that think they can beat him. They can do it around June which will give the football players a few months after the season to train and Bolt will be nearing peak form. The Penn relays would be a good meet to stage the race.
Uh, no...
Maybe he should start with a retired Maurice Green.
Doubt Mo G. could go much lower than 10.8, dude is getting old.
I agree that it is unlikely, due to his age. But the question is, not can he beat Bolt, but could he make the US Olympic team?
In 2012, who knows, he might have. But 2016 is still a long ways (and many vicious hits in football) away.
lol, there is no way either Peterson or Greene is going to make any "Olympic team", or beat Bolt, or even be anywhere NEAR Bolt!
There is also no way Greene could run a 10.8 right now. Maybe if he trained seriously and remained uninjured for a year...maybe.
Surin, OTOH, looks to be well-preserved and in pretty good shape, and just might be able to threaten 10.8
Plus, I was as fast as Peterson in high school, and let me tell you, next to elites, that is WOEFULLY SLOW. And with only 2 or 3 exceptions, "elites" are WOEFULLY SLOW compared to Bolt.
Remember, we have all seen Bolt essentially JOG a 9.9x or 9.8x Bolt might be able to run a 10.66 backwards.
I do, however, like the idea of a serious NFL track meet instead of the Pro Bowl. I think they should break it into 2 sections: a running event track meet, and a strongman competition.
track events--100m, 110mH, 200m, LJ
strongman events--whatever, they would all be great.
This I would totally watch, especially if the track events used FAT and real judges in the LJ and sprints, and if the strongman events were performed and judged exactly according to the strongman rules.
I think they're doing away with the Pro Bowl in a few years anyways. A track meet instead would be awesome. They used to have a 100 meter dash between a few of the fastest NFL players at the Pro Bowl. I recall seeing Darrell Green run, I think they may have gone in the 10.3 - 10.4 range.
They could have all kickers run the mile!
The way NFL'ers train, even a 400m would probably be excruciating to watch!
I'd really like to see some of the big guys do Strongman events, too. Much fun!
Also, on the track, it would be pretty cool to have a 4x100 relay, with each NFL team fielding a relay team.

No, he wouldn't

I like this. Further, since everyone involved would be a millionaire, have each athlete put up $25,000 of his own money, resulting in an 8 lane purse of $200,000, winner take all.
How likely would you see someone like Bolt agreeing to a race like the one mentioned above with the money involved? Don't you think he has management advising him against it?

my first thought is its ridiculous. thought about it a bit more and i think it would actually be good for bolt. footballers and the public love to think that RBs, CBs, WRs are equal to or faster than the best sprinters. we realize this is hogwash and that it detracts from the legitimacy of our sport. match races like this would dispel these myths/rumors and bring interest to track.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
