I'm training for my third marathon, and my wife, who has been through this twice now, is pretty understanding about my need to abandon her every Saturday morning for 2-3 hours for my long run.
But she doesn't like when I try to squeeze in a few extra morning runs during the week. (She counts on me to help get our two young boys up and going in the morning.) So I have to run at lunchtime or whenever, which isn't the best time of day in July and August. Can't wait for speedwork sessions in mid-August on a noonday track under the scorching sun.
Anyone have advice on how to get a non-running wife to get with the program?
How in the world do married ultrarunners get in their 6-8 long runs on Saturday AND Sunday?
