Last year as a freshman (high school) I comfortably had a 4.0 (unweighted so straight A's) going to bed at 9-10 most nights and waking up at 5:40, commuting 80 minutes or so to school every day. Now, though, my grades are dropping and I'm having trouble concentrating on any of my easy subjects. I get back a test that is a C and i feel really bad but it doesn't make me study harder. Also this year, I downright sucked at xc and lost to people who i never would've dreamed of losing to last year (18:30 5k). Though I did take more honors/AP classes this year, I really don't think I'm a 3.7 type student. I got just under 200 this year on the psat and originally was pissed off thinking that was like a failing grade. After just missing a week of school and much longer time running from the flu, I am losing drive to do anything at all. I was doing around 40 mpw before the flu, but now my joints are so painful I can't even run 3 miles at 7:30 pace comfortably. It's like 12 days after the flu and I still can't run and am so far behind in school. What can I do to get into a decent school with near a full scholorship? I know that schools like the ivy's are a crapshoot and i wouldn't get much money even if I did get in, but still would love to go somewhere prestigious. I'm not gonna be running the type of times to get recrutied, but hopefully i can walk-on.
