Seriously, where will the ceiling end with the increasing prices of running shoes?!?

In the late 70s, shoes were 40-50 and marathons were 4-5. Now shoes are 100 and marathons are 100.
Of course are marathons aren't made overseas with cheap labor.
I bet you'd be interested in a pair of these. They're yours for the low, low price of $274.99.
lol. those are the heaviest, ugliest shoes I have ever had the displeasure to look at
shop around online, buy last year's model...i haven't paid more than $80 including shipping in over a year, and i've gotten $100 shoes for $65
The funny thing is, these look like they have a better value than what you pay for a "normal" new pair of shoes. I'm finding it hard to pay $120 for the new minimalist trend shoes. The last pair of shoes that I felt were a perfect fit for me were the Nike Lunar Glide 1 & 2. Kind of like the Rocky movies, they were all downhill after that. It seems like I have to wait longer for a descent pair of any brand to meet my needs and have to stock up when I do find something that I like. Without sounding too old, I left college with gas at .68 cents/gallon in 88.
My all-time favorite training shoes were probably the Brooks Chariots and racing flats somwhere between the Nike American Eagles and the New Balance Black and Whites with a red N. That should date me pretty well.
I remember the Chariot and they were excellent although I remember the heel was slightly too wide for me. I also liked the Asics Striker a couple years later which fit perfectly.
I don't think running shoes will ever get to $200.
When gas was at that price it was said that bottled water was more expensive than gasoline.
They'll hit $200 someday. I've noticed shoe prices increasing in the last few years. I think they try to knock the price up $10 every year or two. When prices do hit $200, how many miles will they estimate each pair should last? My guess is 200-250 miles.
