Winter is starting in a few days and I want to know what the best route is to breaking 9:20 in spring track. Would it be best to focus on mileage in winter then lower it and work on my speed in spring, or would it be better to build miles and speed consistantly throughout winter and spring and just taper during late spring. Currently finished xc and took a week off and am in 9:50 10:00 range most likely. I run about 45 a week on any given week at a solid pace with a longrun almost every week. What should I do so in the next 6 months I'm a solid 9:20 3200 runner.
