What are the best D1 middle distance colleges?
What are the best D1 middle distance colleges?
Arkansas, Columbia, Penn State, to name a few. Just look at past penn relays results.
Villanova. Princeton. UVa. Oregon. Oklahoma. Stanford.
It'll prolly be Princeton once Vig royally F***s up their distance squad like everywhere else he tries to coach. Hard to believe dozens of fast 200s don't make people run fast in cross country.
Yep Vig really screwed up Princeton's distance program..
Princeton finishes 11th at Nationals (school best) the year after Olympian Donn Cabral graduates.
UVA worse every year with vig. Short term success does not make a coach successful.
Look no further than the BIG 10 coaches!
Plaz: Blankenship just departed, and 2 800 runners led the country collegiately for most of the year.
Indiana, Helmer: Bayer (4th Trials/NCAA Champ), Turner (3:59), couple others at 4:00.
Ohio State, now Furman, Gary: See (3:35), Huling (3:37), Leslie (3:39), Fallon (3:43), Myers (3:40)
Badgers, Byrne: Coached Miller/Bolas year before and Mudd (3:40/1:47), Hatz (3:42), Finnerty (3:40)
Penn State, Beth: Creese (3:58), Cas (1:45), and austalian miler from year before.
In the Big 10, Indiana was 2nd, OSU 8th, and Wisconsin 9th in Boise at NCAA Championships. Those 3 were only Big 10 teams to qualify Nationals.
