Julia stamps record of 16:43 goes down. When she wins next week she will stamp her name as the greatest high school XC runner in history. Hagen Trestle 2nd in 17:11.
Pretty Incredible. That is a great boys time!!!

oops meant Hagen *Reedy.
If Hasay had run 16:40 at Woodward Park there would already be 200 posts.

I disagree. The amount of posts (covering college and highschool xc) in general this year seems to be lower than past years. Anyone know why?
Yes, you are correct I was referring to the time when Hasay was running high school track. Track coverage is way down I noticed it after the economy took a dive.
No more dyestat. I have not been following HS cross-country ever since dyestat went under a few weeks back. Any other good sites out there?
Opps I meant this one.

Hasay always had star-power that most do not. She was dominate in age-group track and had a unique appearance with the pony-tail thing. Also there are a lot more girls running fast. Baxter still stands out but many more girls are running under 17:30 than when Hasay did.
There was perfect weather today and it was not that way when Stamps set the record. This one should have an asterix next to it. Like when LV and CD tried to take out Craig Virgin's record.
What were the differences in the weather?
Not to take anything away from Baxter's record, but the day that Stamps ran her record there had been some rain the night before and the morning of the race and a couple of parts of the course were a real mud pit.
The fastest ever in California history is impressive!! Way to go!!
I'm impressed that she keeps improving year by year, that she looks healthy, and that she didn't plateau after her growth spurt.

...
That is DEFINITELY the reason, since Dyestat went under I haven't been keeping up with high school x country due to not knowing another website as good as dyestat!
Outstanding performance...wonder if Sarah Baxter vs Mary Cain gonna be close or another Kithuka vs Lalang?
I would not expect Baxter or Cain to have much chance in the other's best event. XC goes to Baxter.

There was never a Kithuka vs Lalang. Unfortunately, Lalang had a serious off day. We won't see a real faceoff until indoor and outdoor track.
There was definitely an anticipated clash between Lalang and Kithuka. Kithuka's a 5000/10000m man; whereas, Lalang is a 1500m/5000m and Kithuka took Lalang into terrority only Henry Ronon surpassed on that course. The fans were joined by commentators, journalists etc all wondering about the matchup; HOWEVER, back to the original thread topic.
Sarah Baxter and Mary Cain are both exceptional athletes and I along with many others can't wait to see this battle between the two young ladies! I really HOPE to see both of the young ladies take down every HSR from 800m to 5000m before the end of their high school careers.
Baxter has never lost a XC race in her HS career. Wow!
Assuming she graduates with this streak, who else is this true for?
Sarah Baxter is only a junior so she can lower her own record next year.
Emma Coburn to miss Olympic Trials after breaking ankle in Suzhou
Jakob on Oly 1500- “Walk in the park if I don’t get injured or sick”
VALBY has graduated (w/ honors) from Florida, will she go to grad school??
