I saw some posts about high school mileage and I thought this might be interesting to see since most letsrun forum goers are pretty good runners. So what was your hs mileage and what results did you get with that?

15:28 Xc on a perfect day and flat course, after a summer running ~80 with 95 as my highest. 60-70 in season
4:26/9:20 after a 70 mpw winter, 40-60 in season .
I was more of an endurance guy, obviously this mileage isn't for everyone.
45ish
15:36 xc
4:13 1600
1:52 800
60s per week during summer and XC of senior year, 16:43 5k PR junior year (ran 50s then). Ran 60-70 mpw (75 peak) during winter and then ran 4:34 and 9:45 in track.
I ran 30 miles a week in high school. 15:47. Didn't ever get much better in college with more miles.
25-30 mpw-15:45, 1:57 & 4:19
Ehh...
I only ran one year of track and two years of xc, averaging 35 - 42 miles a week.
15:49 5k, 9:19 3200m, 4:20 1600m (First and only year of track).
Broke 25 in the 8k this year off of 40 mile weeks showing how some can get faster running the same mileage.
XC SR - 15:25 (Peaked at 60 in late July. Stayed between 40-55 all season)
JR TRACK - 54.6, 1:59.5, 4:26, 9:33 .. peaked at 50 in january, stayed between 30-45 mpw.. (was injuried for one week.. ran 20 that week)
Ran 40 over the summer, 30-35 during the season. 15:40xc, 1:53, 4:22, 9:22 (only ran the 32 once)
25-30 miles per week H.S.
200m - 22.9
400m - 49.7
800m - 1:56
1600m - 4:27
5000m - 16:15
averaged 50-70 miles / wk college (90 max, only ran 2 years)
400m - 49.1 dmr split @ notre dame over-sized indoor track
800m - 1:53
mile - 4:16
5000m - 15:39 - small local grass course race during XC season
8000m - 25:47, flat course
* i never did tempos in HS or never ran more than 6 miles in one run. i def. think more mileage would have helped in the longer distance events (hence my slow 1600m pr). i did one marathon after quitting college track in 2:38. 1:12:52 1/2
40-50 MPW. No more than 55 or so, I think. Lots of hills and workouts, mostly quality stuff mixed with recovery runs.
1:55.7
4:15.4
9:48?
16:40?
1:49 - 800m
3:50 - 1500m
60 - 75mpw winter
played football in the fall so no xc/5K pr. in the spring off maybe 15-20 miles a week I ran:
200 - 23.X relay split
400 - 50.X relay split
800 - 2:02
1600 - 4:44
3200 - 10:12
college coach convinced me to run XC in the fall and come out for track. built up from 25 mpw over the summer to 70 in the fall/winter of my freshman year. ran 4:28 and 9:30 equivalents in my first indoor mile and 3K races in January. i was living proof that mileage matters at that point, but perpetual injuries ensued...
We probably never did more than 25 mpw or so during track and maybe 30 during cross country
5k: 17:25
1600m: 4:51 (only ran once to get our team some easy first place points)
800m: 2:00
400m: 51
nice. did you run in college? pr's?

Around 65 mpw got me a 10:08 2mile
110-120
14:33 - 5K (track)
8:50 - 2m
still in high school
Been a while, but no more than 45 mpw in season I think. Maybe 50-60 summer before senior year.
3 miles 15:00 (I can't remember a 5K time, but I was sub 16 for sure)
1600 4:17
800 1:57
3200 9:20 (only ran it a few times, feel I could've run significantly faster)
Ran quite a bit faster in college with aprrox. 15-20 mpw more on average.
35-45 mpw, but all at like 7:30-8:30 min pace, so real slow, but did decent workouts.
PRs: 5k XC- 15:54, 3200m- 9:36, 1600m- 4:28, 800m- 2:00. didnt run indoor because i played basketball.
went on to run in college and immediately got hurt running 70mpw @ 6:30 pace, took a year off from running entirely, spent a couple years trying to come back, finally beating those PRs again now.
