Anything from the conference meet?
Anything from the conference meet?
Wisco wins it.
Mav 2, Mo 3, Reed 6, Finnerty 7, Brill 14
Mayhew won individually. Bayer got 4th.
Michigan girls, Wisconsin men victorious. Individual champions are MSU's Sara Kroll and Indiana's Zachery Mayhew.
Badgers with Darling 2nd, Ahmed 3rd, Conner 6th, Finnerty 7th, and Brill 14th
This is beyond pathetic that nobody has results posted yet!
MSU really really does not care about cross/track and walt doesn't have the interest in doing the work to promote his team or event.
results have been up for about 30 minutes. Just go to the MSU cross country home page and they are on the right.
Hey thanks for providing us that link.

Is Ohio State a force to be reckoned with in three years? 2-7 are all freshman and they ran pretty solid times.. If this group stayed together could they get a national title in three years, or four if they redshirted?

The answer is...NO. They could do good things if they develop well and can add a top tier talent or two next year or the year after, but I doubt they win a trophy with this group.
Tony Smorgeiwitz (spelling I know) is progressing nicely. Should be a contender in a few years. I think he was the top true freshman.
False, Matt McClintock of Purdue was the top true Freshman, 24:03 for 8th.

Women Here:
http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/msu/sports/c-xc/auto_pdf/2012-13/box_score/stats_20121028aab.pdf
Men Top 5
Wisco 33
Michigan 65
Indiana 79
Illinois 86
Minnesta 141
Women Top 5
Michigan 55
Mich. State 75
PSU 96
Minnesota 134
Wisco 147
The first thing that jumps out at me looking at the men's results is that the top 7 are all seniors. Who's going to win this race next year? Will the Big 10 even have any All Americans next fall?
Comparing Purdue and Ohio State underclassmen we get:8 40 47 54 Purdue41 46 55 56 Ohio StateI say Purdue has the better makings of a mid-level or better team in two years than Ohio State given this set of results (although Ohio State was deeper and has more chances to improve, plus they have a big state and if they get good and state kids actually stay home....).

Things I noticed
If Wisconsin didnt race Mo and Reed this would have been the top 4 score:
56 Michigan
72 Indiana
75 Wisconsin
76 Illinois
----------
Removing all seniors from this race this is the virtual score for next year...
49 Michigan
99 Minnesota
113 Michigan State
135 Indiana
136 Illinois
140 Purdue
141 Wisconsin
176 Ohio State
220 Iowa
263 Nebraska
N/A Penn State only has 4 returners (but top 4 scored 88 pts)
I think I would take the Wisconsin guys that did not run here over those from other teams next year. First, does Shields recover and similarly for Erschen? Also, Brice ran 4th at Wisco Invite in 24:38, so was off today. Finally, there is red-shirting frosh Malachy Schrobilgen 4:11/8:57 for 1600/3200 and FL finalist.
Can someone please paste full women's team results? I'm using my mobile phone's browser and can't open PDFs.
Lessee if letsrun will let me make such a big post.
