Who is the fastest college runner to never break 10 minutes in the 3200 in high school? I've heard of guys who have run 24s for 8ks, but are there any faster?

Pat Porter was a 4:29 miler in high school. It doesn't answer the question exactly, but does give hope to unremarkable high school runners.
Brian Sell was a 10:02 guy, right?
Jeff Demps was a fast guy
Pat Porter ran 9:51 in HS at altitude.
Anybody who doesn't break 10 in high school and then runs 24 8K's later on usually were undertrained in high school.
ya think?
Dean K didn't break 10 in HS and became the greatest Ultra runner of our country.
well, looks like you'll be slow forever.
Kirk Pfeffer
2;10 and '80 Olympic team
Dan Kerley (North Central College 13') Only ran 10:20 or something back in high school. He's now run 29:58.

Sell wasn't even that good in COLLEGE. He ran 30:50 for 10k or something. Awesome for an over-10 HS two miler, but not at all indicative of his marathoning prowess. He was a true late bloomer. I think he maxed out at 80 or 90 miles in college. Didn't run 120-150 until a few years out.

Huh, 80 team was Sandoval, Durden, and Kyle Heffner. Do you mean Heffner?
Pfeffer ran about 2:20 for the marathon in high school, one of the best ever.
Another candidate, Rick Robirds, Sterling, CO. 4:50 mile and nothing close to 10:00 in HS. 28:20 10K and several Baby Nationals titles at Adams State, plus high USATF placings.
It's likely Ron Daws didn't break 10 minutes in high school. Maybe Avocados Number could chime in.

Had I guy I ran with back in Ohio who ran 9:47 his senior year but now is a 2:15 marathoner. I'd say that's a good leap but not quite what the OP was looking for.
Bolt probably never broke 10 minutes in high school.
Maybe Dick Buerkle?
I'm not sure that Mark Curp broke 10 in high school at Polo, but he went on to set the WR in the half marathon.
One of my Bucknell teamates ran 10:10 in HS, at Bucknell he ran 2:24 1000 meters and made NCAA's, 3:44 1500 meters outdoors and 1:52 for 800 indoors. He was also 7th man in XC when the team was 12th at NCAA's.
