You might try the Brooks Launch.

Toward the more cushioned end, the current Nike Lunarglide is very light for the amount of cushioning you get but not especially responsive. The Pegasus would be lighter and a bit more responsive than the Vomero, but not as light as the Lunarglide.

Asics Blur 33 ... I also loved the Kinvara, but wanted more of a shoe, and I really like this model. You might also want to try the Saucony Cortana.

Saucony Mirage. It says it has a tiny bit of stability, but it really doesn't. I can't wear stability shoes either (supinate with my left foot) and I can wear the Mirages. Basically just a more durable Kinvara.

I would also recommend the Kinvara. Or Asics DS Trainer, maybe Adidas Aegis

I like the Precision and would recommend trying out the Brooks Pure Flow if you like a more minimalist approach. The Kinvara are very good shoes also but the Flow are a much softer shoe.

I second the recommendation for the New Balance 890V2.

Asics Gel Cumulus might get it done for you. If that's not responsive enough for you, give the Asics Gel Stike 3 a try. Basic and cheap. I alternate them depending on the surface. Have a similar fit. Anything but Nike.

Current Zoom Elite is fantastic. Current Vomero is far less bulky than previous versions. The Asics Gel-Excel33 is also good. Asics Landreth is wonderful. Do you not have a running store in your town? Why would your training shoe need to handle sub 5 minute pace?

When I was looking for a shoe I went to fleet feet and they recommended the vomero and the new balance 890, and I choose the 890 and I really like it and according to them its similar to the vomero but less bulky.

The new zoom elites feel lightweight and they have a good amount of shoe. Easily my favorite trainers
