And why was it ever allowed to latch on to track and field?
I'd like to petition USATF to allow for a new event--the 20,000 meter skip.

don't waste your time. i petitioned for a 5000m human-wheelbarrow a couple years back, but the USATF frowned upon its sexual innuendo
In 1894, Baron Pierre de Coubertin had engaged a philosophical discussion at the Sorbonne on whether or not it was possible to determine in a contest who could whisper the loudest.
Later that night, about halfway on his walk home, de Coubertin felt the pangs of an intense peristaltic rush. With bitter determination and focus, he walked faster and faster until he arrived home just in the nick of time.
Thus, race walking was born.
wow, i didnt realize race walking was steeped in such tradition. race walking is to france what the marathon is to greece. i hope that paris wins its bid for the 2012 olympics. then race walking can finally return home to it's historic roots.
The 10K PR is around 39.5. That's my race PR of last year. Sick bastards they are.
