Ok guys so i am a transfer sophmore in college living with a freshman roomate (transgfered late so got crap housing). at first i thought he was alright, kept to himself, played a lot of xbox and went home every weekend. Until I angered the beast. Last Sunday before my long run I could not find a pair of socks so i borrowed a pair of his lying on the floor, and forgot to return them, I guess they got mixed in with my laundry. This Saturday I get a message from him online that reads like this:
"Normally I would send this by txt but anyway my phones cracked and I can't really see anything so w.e. anyway just wanted to say that it was kinda whack that you took a pair of my socks and ruined them without even asking me. I don't really like having ppl wear my close in the first place let alone ruin them. I wear those socks for whenever I play basketball cuz the shoes I own cut my Achilles so I have wear those socks and seeing as I don't own many pairs of them it kinda sucks to lose a pair."
I messaged him back and apologized but explained to him that i didnt ruin the socks I wore them one time, however he responded to me that:
"there pretty much ruined at this pt cuz they are really just meant to be worn for basketball so its w.e. so as long as it doesn't happen again we're fine."
I saw him today and it was really awkward. Is this normal? How should I handle this situation?
