I simply do not understand why i have not broken 18 minutes for a 5k yet. My PR's:
800m - 2:08
1600 - 4:55
5k - 18:34
i dont know what im doing wrong. The harder workouts we are doing include 2 mile tempo runs, 1000m, 800m, and 400m repeats. My racing strategy is basically to run the first mile in 5:40, finish mile two by 11:35, then under 6:00 for the last mile. I can get to around 11:37 by mile two, but i dont know what happens the last mile. Can anyone offer any advice to help me break 18?
