Who gets em?
Who gets em?
asmeron really impressed me tonight. i think he's got a shot. broe i think will get it for sure. matt lane? we'll see.
Who already has an A standard? I believe Riley does.
So can Broe still go to the Oly's if he gets the standard?
OK. If Broe gets the "B" standard and no one else achieves an "A", then Broe gets picked over Riley.
Right?
I think the TV crew put Riley on the Team too soon.

i don't think anyone has the ability to make the team aside from the four "nominees." in this case, it will be the winner (broe), the one A std guy (Riley), and the 2 B std guys (torres, luchinni). Unless one of them drops out. I suppose if I am luchinni or torres and i know i am not going to race anymore this year, i would give up my spot.
Riley said after the race, if Broe gets a B, then the highest finisher at the Trials goes alone (Broe). if he doesn't get the B, then only Riley goes. if Broe gets the A, then they both go.
Interestingly, if Broe only gets the 'B' in Europe, then Riley is gone. Personally, I think Broe will get an 'A', but we send just two (I hope I'm wrong).
will either torres or luchinni give up their nominee spots? or perhaps a better question, can they?
bolota and lane are hoping that they can (and do).
i would guess luchinni would be more likely than torres. but they have to both know that they can't run 13:21 in the next 3 weeks.
Broe has until August 9th. The July 21st deadline is for submitting the four guys who receive a ranking after the trials. Of those 4 guys, those with A qualifiers go, or if Broe gets the B he goes alone.
I think the you are right about the submission date, but I think they have more time to name the actual team.
Can anyone confirm the 21st of July as the cutoff date?
I believe the rule is that if the winner has only the B and there is only ONE runner behind him with an A, then the winner (with his B) goes. BUT if the winner has a B and there are TWO runners behind him, each with an A, then the two A runners go and the B runner stays home (despite winning the trials).
So, can anyone (please) tell me, who has an A already? Is it just Riley, or is there another?
If Broe runs "slow" enough, he bumps Riley? WTF. Am I not getting it?
Just checked and August 9 is the cut off date.
just Riley
That definately makes things more interesting. Gotta love those commentators. They initially stated that Riley has punched his ticket to Athens, as if it's now a forgone conclusion...idiots...
Ahhh, that explains the several dates being thrown around. Thanks for the clarification malmo.
also how do we send three?
of those four nominated, three must get the A for three to go.
