I recently did a half marathon race as a workout and got 1:24, is it realistic to set a goal of at least sub 3:05 ?

3:05, definitely.
Most likely, a 1:24 will translate into a 2:56 - 2:58.
Do a couple long, slow runs of 20 - 23 miles.
Under three. Two fifty-something.
Describe your training. Mileage, long runs, workouts, etc.
i ran i:24 too followed by 3:01 (4 weeks later) i went out a little too fast...
half marathon is completely different than a full. I was in 1:20 shape or so when I was at mile 21 at 2:52 pace when the wheels fell off but I did manage to break 3:00. It all depends on how you run that last 6-5 miles which is extremely painful compared to other race distances.
By definition, if you break three hours, you will do it in under three weeks.
60-75 miles a week, lots of tempo efforts between 640-7 pace. fartleks usually 2min fast 1 min slow, doing that fartlek i can average 620-630 pace, last outdoor track i was sub 5 for the mile, and... long runs I do progressive and usually average 7:10-7:20 pace for 16-18 and it feels fine
I should also throw in Im following tht Hansons-brooks method but not totally just the general idea, I just really would like to go sub 3:05 to qualify for Boston this race which will be the day before my 18th birthday
